MA Graduation 2008

I recently completed a Masters in Policy from King's College London. It was a wonderful experience. I was one of two Americans in the department. Everyone else came from the UK, Germany, Turkey, Greece, China and other locations.

Here are a few pics from the graduation ceremony I thought I would share.

Back in the US

So, we are now back in the US, living in Northern New Jersey, minutes from NYC. We enjoyed our first Christmas together in the US. We are slowly getting use to the lifestyle here but are both missing England. Our plans of living in the US are not so set in stone, and I imagine we'll be back in London in a few years time.

Mark has been promoted to VP at Lehman Bros, and I am still on the jobhunt. I have been taking my time, as I have traveled back to Utah and will be traveling to Alaska to spend time with family. Living in London always made that difficult, so I am trying to spend as much time as possible with family while we are on the same continent!

I will soon be volunteering as a research associate for the American Red Cross. I love volunteer work and look forward to working with the nonprofit sector.

We will be moving once again to a permanent home in two months. I am really looking forward to this, as I will finally be getting a Welsh Terrier. Yea!

All is well in our neck of the woods- we have a warm home, food on the table and a big suv for getting around. This little (or shall I say large) luxury was our one splurge for our lifestyle here in the US. With the cost of petrol in the UK, we will most likely downgrade when we move back! :)

Most importantly, we are both happy and are now enjoying our time here in the US.

Vics and Stephen's Wedding

Mark and I had such a great time being in Durham for a wedding that did not involve ourselves. It was so nice to not worry about decorations, catering, flowers, car hire, cakes, all the other bits involved in wedding planning.

Vics and Stephen had such a beautiful wedding, and we had such a great time. Thanks for letting us be a part of it all!

Mark and Michal

So, we finally decided to do this blog thing! Mark and I met in London, where we currently reside, and married in 2006. We are planning our big move to New York later this year/early next year. I am really excited because we are finally buying a proper house! I have been looking through magazines and websites, even though we haven't picked out the house yet! Mark currently works for Lehman Bros. Bank and will be transferring to their Manhattan Office. I currently work in the House of Commons for a Member of Parliament and am finishing up my masters degree. I have no idea what jobs I will find in New York, but I am crossing my fingers that something will come my way. We do not have any children yet and will probably wait a couple more years. Until then, I look forward to getting a puppy! It's 3am in the morning here in the UK, so I suppose I should head to bed. Enough studying and blogging for one morning!
